Large Antique Linen Crossbody
Early European grain sacks were made from hemp and flax and were handmade right on the farms on which the hemp or flax was grown. After harvesting, the hemp was cleaned, spun into thread and subsequently woven into a heavy, durable fabric. That fabric was used to make large bags for grain, feed and other agricultural products for efficient transport from farm to marketplace. The distinct and familiar striping often seen on grain sacks was also a way for farmers to identify their sacks so the bags could be easily returned to their rightful origin. The unique character of each bag holds the history of a 19th century farm. This makes this fabric the perfect vehicle to create beautiful one of a kind bags.
This roomy one of a kind tote bag has all the ingredients to be your favorite hauling tote. The antique linen paired with the natural Italian veg tanned leather is one of my all time favorite combinations. There are 2 roomy pockets on the front & 4 additional ones inside. The bag is fully lined in classic navy ticking fabric. The webbing handles are covered in the natural leather for comfortable carrying & a thick removable strap sit comfortably on your shoulder. I can’t think of a better & more unique bag to carry on your adventures for years to come.
