Antique Linen Folsom Crossbody
Antique Linen Folsom Crossbody
Early European grain sacks were made from hemp and flax and were handmade right on the farms on which the hemp or flax was grown. After harvesting, the hemp was cleaned, spun into thread and subsequently woven into a heavy, durable fabric. That fabric was used to make large bags for grain, feed and other agricultural products for efficient transport from farm to marketplace. The distinct and familiar striping often seen on grain sacks was also a way for farmers to identify their sacks so the bags could be easily returned to their rightful origin. The unique character of each bag holds the history of a 19th century farm. This makes this fabric the perfect vehicle to create beautiful one of a kind bags.
This sweet one of a kind cross body bag is similar in feeling to our Folsom bag but here we utilize the antique fabric. The tote zips shut at the top & has Italian veg tanned leather handles & bottom. The front has 2 pockets to stash essentials. The hand cut & finished strap sits comfortably on your shoulder & can be removed if you prefer to use it as a handbag. The tote is fully lined in our classic navy ticking stripe with 2 pockets for additional storage. This summer style is perfect for everyday use year after year.
