While we’re on the subject of Chipmunks I thought I’d plow right ahead & introduce you to my pencil cases.  The pictures were taken last summer at Rocky Mountain National Park where Chipmunks abound….. especially at picnic spots.  I blew up the images & printed them with heat transfer onto a really nice linen. Each one comes out a little different depending on how well & sew along the outline.

I made this a while back as a birthday gift for a little girl who is a budding artist.  The Chipmunk is my own character & I drew the “self portrait” in photoshop.  The case was made then the pictures were added as a heat transfer. I added pencils & made a canvas sketch pad to go inside.

Time to pack up the pencil case & set the alarm….. school is back!

This pencil case was made from a natural vegetan leather. The leaves were then stenciled on & the stems were added with embroidery thread.  The little ribbon on the side is linen. The lining is also a natural linen.  Time to fill it up….

Well, the chipmunk says it all….  This was a trial to see if I could do a regular iron on picture onto leather.  It worked!
